1.Based on your reflections, and on a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being optimal wellbeing), where do you rate your A-physical wellbeing, B-spiritual well-being, C-psychological well-being? Why?
Physical Well-being: 9 Spiritual Well-being: 6 Psychological Wellbeing: 7
I rated my physical well being an 8 because I work out daily and eat fairly well, although I know that I can always eat better. My spiritual well-being needs some work. I rated myself a 6 because I do not make time for my spiritual health. I do reflect more on physical and psychological health and tend to forget that I need to have all three aspects to have a healthy lifestyle. My psychological well-being is better than my spiritual well-being but it needs some work too. I get stressed easily and I need to find ways to overcome it without letting it get the best of me. I need to step back and realize that I have control of my physical, spiritual and psychological well-being.
2.Develop a goal for yourself in each area (physical, spiritual, psychological).
Physical: Eat less fried foods
Spiritual: Reflect often during the day on what is meaningful and important to me.
Psychological: Talk to my family and friends when I have a problem and need their opinion. Don’t keep it to myself and let it build up.
3.What activities or exercise can you implement in your life to assist in moving toward each goal?
Physical: Bring my lunch to work instead of going to the cafeteria where fried foods are more available.
Spiritual: I need to take the time and remind myself that I do have the time; I just need to take the time out.
Psychological: Take the time to make a phone call. Don’t just say I will, but actually do it.
4.Complete the relaxation exercise The Crime of the Century. To hear this exercise, click here. Describe your experience. (What it beneficial? Frustrating? etc.)
I liked the relaxation exercise because it forced me to relax but also focused me on how to do that. I think it is very beneficial. I felt so calm to the point of sleepiness. It was great.

First, Your neices are beautiful!! I bet you are proud. I enjoyed your blog and your honesty in your rating system. Sometimes I feel that is the hardest thing to do is self reflection and being critical of ourselves. We most certainly all could probably get fried foods out of our diet. My husband has a very strong family history of heart disease so I make it a practice not to fry anything. Most anything that you fry can be baked! But, it is difficult while eating out and especially while in a hurry. Making a conscious effort of good choices is imperative. Your blog shows what a positive person you and this may be why you feel you don't concentrate on your spirituality. I think it's a big part of who you are and doesn't require much work. Spirituality may seem religious is nature, and this is how I try to convey it. But, I also feel that it is a reflection of our human spirit and how we interact with the world. Sometimes just being more aware of the precious things around us can raise our spiritual level. I do feel like your on the right track for you physical health. When we integrate fitness and our physical beings into our everyday lives, we are more successful. This is something I can work on in my own life. Thanks for being open and letting me get to know you better! Have an awesome week :-) Katie
Michelle, I think you have some very good goals and the exercises/activities you have posted to help you acheive your goals are very do-able. I am going to use the "eating less fried foods" for myself!
I think you will be able to achieve those goals easily. One thing that I have found in my life, is that when my spiritual life is on track, my psychological well-being is in a higher place as well. I can also say that when my physical well-being is flourishing, my psychological well-being is much better- further proving that all these things are interconnected- mind, body, spirit.
Hi Michele
I really like your comment about eating less fried foods by bringing your lunch to work. This reminds me of when I worked in the hospital because in the evening and night shifts, all we had was fried foods from the grill and it can really pack on the pounds. This sounds really crazy that a hospital would be serving stuff that is killing your body, but they do. Another benefit to bringing your lunch is the fact that you have a few extra minutes to eat, read, or do whatever you need to do during your break because of the time you saved going to the cafeteria. Best of luck meeting your goals!
Candace
